About the University
Overview

University of Suwon (수원대학교) is a comprehensive private university in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi Province — about 45 minutes south of Seoul. Founded in 1964, it offers programs across engineering, business, social sciences, and the arts, and actively recruits international students from Asia and Africa.

Why Choose University of Suwon?

Suwon University sits in Korea's technology corridor near Samsung's global headquarters, giving students exceptional proximity to industry. Admission scholarships covering 20–60% of tuition make it one of the more accessible private universities in the region, and the campus maintains a dedicated international student support center.

Campus & Facilities

The campus spans over 230,000 sqm and includes modern engineering labs, a dedicated business school building, the Global Language Institute, international student dormitories, a library, sports facilities, and a student wellness center.

Student Life

Hwaseong-si connects students to both Suwon and Seoul via public transit. Campus life includes international student clubs, Korean culture programs, cooking competitions, sports events, and regular cultural exchange activities with domestic students.

Admission Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, financial support documents (minimum bank balance), passport copy, and health certificate. TOPIK Level 2+ recommended for Korean-medium programs. English proficiency documentation required for English-track programs.

Scholarships & Financial Aid
New international students are automatically considered for the Admission Scholarship, which covers 20–60% of tuition based on academic background. Performance scholarships from second semester onward are tied to GPA. TWISE pathway discounts also apply.

Korea has four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid; winters can be cold and snowy. Spring and autumn are mild and beautiful — popular for travel and outdoor activities.
